Recycling

The City is a Responsible Unit (RU) for recycling which requires the city to ensure that recycling services are available to all city residents. The City contracts with local haulers to pick up recycling curbside for residents and offers a drop-off site for recyclables, solid waste, and yard waste.

Trees

The City of Menomonie is designated as a Tree City USA. The City has an Urban Forestry Board that oversees and promotes proper management of the City's trees. The City utilizes a gravel bed tree nursery to help plant new trees in the boulevard. In the winter months, the City Community Services department works to prune trees in the right of way.

Yard Waste

The City has a yard waste composting facility at the City Solid Waste and Recycling Site where residents can drop off leaves, grass, garden debris and other yard waste to be composted. The City also does seasonal curbside pick-ups of yard waste on select dates in the spring and fall.
